Rusty Shields is owner and chief performance consultant at Develefy Consulting. His passion, energy, and excitement when facilitating is palpable and contagious. As a facilitator and consultant for the past nineteen years, Rusty has worked with corporations and organizations of all sizes all over the world. With more than 17 years of leadership development experience, Rusty prides himself in his work with C-level executives, directors, managers, and high potentials. Rusty has experience designing and delivering customized leadership development programs, both virtually and face to face. He also has many years of experience designing e-learning and other self-paced training in interactive and engaging ways. His instructor-led, participant-centered approach to facilitation keeps learners engaged from the minute they walk in the “door” until the minute they depart. Rusty has delivered on topics ranging from building high-performance teams, change management, executive presence, and storytelling to instructional design, facilitating with confidence, and training the trainer. He also is a Microsoft Office 365 certified specialist, certified QuickBooks online specialist, situational leadership II certified trainer, and Predictive Index certified. Rusty is also active in the ATD Central Indiana Chapter, serving in various leadership positions. Rusty has a master’s degree in music for vocal performance and choral conducting from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He also has served on 13 nonprofit boards in various roles, including business consultant. When he is not facilitating, Rusty continues his passion for the stage, performing in musicals and operas throughout the US, singing the national anthem more than 150 times a year, and traveling the world while marking off places on his bucket list. Rusty finds joy in helping others find their passion and joy, both personally and professionally, and developing those individuals to reach the highest of heights.
